About Us
We help people and improve lives.
We help people and improve lives, with a special focus on those living with injury, illness, pain or disability.
Peter O’Brien and Bradley Packer studied a Bachelor of Physiotherapy together at the University of Queensland and founded Encara in 2004. After working across various industries, they focused on the aged and community care sectors.
We’re proud that Encara offers meaningful and rewarding careers to all members of our Allied Health and administrative teams.
Our Journey
2004
Encara's story begins with a Peace Lily and a printer, gifted to Bradley and Peter to start their business. The idea to found Queensland Aged Physiotherapy came from their passion for improving the lives of vulnerable Australians.
2008
Initially trading as Queensland Aged Physiotherapy, we became Encara "encompassing care" to reflect our growth to deliver a comprehensive range of Allied Health services.
2014
Encara expands nationally, with established teams covering all capital cities and many regional areas to support ever-growing demands of Residential Aged Care, Home Care Package clients, and NDIS participants.
2019
Australia is hit by the COVID pandemic. The aged and vulnerable are impacted and isolated from their communities. Encara therapists work through the crisis, providing a familiar face and personal support for our clients.
2023 and into the future
Encara champion the ACFI to ANACC transition in aged care. Our therapists enjoy the opportunity to design and deliver evidence-based programs to optimise the health and well-being of our clients. We move forward with our purpose to help others feel happy, healthy and independent.
